Designated Type 930 but commonly known simply as the Turbo, the new vehicle was released in the spring of 1975, power output reached 300-hp with a displacement increase to 3.3-liters and the addition of an air-to-air intercooler. 1976 heralded the first year that Porsche’s 911 Turbo was available in the U.S., and the car’s release created quite a fanfare. Porsche’s street cars were previously known more so for their handling and driving characteristics rather than their raw power output, but the 911 Turbo changed that.
The magnificent 1979 Porsche 930 turbo featured here is finished in stunning black over impeccably kept black leather interior ,fitted with nearly every available option including air conditioning, electric sunroof and more. This exquisite 930 was built 03-79 and delivered new by Bryntesen Porsche Audi to its original owner in the summer of 1979, bought as an investment and only driven 75 miles before putting it in storage until 1983 where it was then sold to its second owner a Porsche club of America member in Georgia who eventually sent it to renowned Porsche experts at Porschraft of Atlanta for a all metal slantnose upgrade to factory specs, in the late 2000's he had them upgrade the air conditioning system at a cost of excessive ,000 as well as performance upgrades such as the exhaust, tensioner kit and more. Accompanying this investment grade 930 turbo are it's original window sticker, sales invoice, Porsche certificate as well as extensive service records. In preparing this 930 for sale, it received a complete tune up with valves adjusted, plugs, filters, heads torqued and compression test. compression is as follows: 1-125, 2-125, 3-130, 4-130, 5-130, 6-130.
